MARGARET GILMORE is a writer, broadcaster and analyst specializing in Homeland Security and the Environment. She is also a Senior Research Fellow with the leading security think tank RUSI (Royal United Services Institute) where she writes and speaks on terrorism and security. For 19 years she worked for the BBC, most recently as senior Home Affairs Correspondent covering stories like the July 7th bombs for the main television news bulletins. Before that she was Environment and Agriculture Correspondent. She won a number of awards for her authoritative work on the BSE and vCJD crisis, GM crops and climate change. Her son has nut allergy and she maintains a keen interest in all aspects of food safety. She is married to a television producer. She continues to broadcast as an expert, chair conferences, and to write books, articles and in-depth reports.
