Working with others

How the Agency works with stakeholders, other Government departments and public bodies, and international relations.

More in this section

  • Advisory Committee on Consumer Engagement

The Advisory Committee on Consumer Engagement reviews and assesses the Agency’s consumer engagement work and provides external challenge to the Executive that they are continuing to 'put the consumer first'. The committee meets two to three times a year and produces an annual report to the Board, which is discussed at an open Board meeting.

  • Consumer advisory panel

The Consumer advisory panel provides consumer insights into our work by supplementing consumers’ views and opinions obtained from direct engagement. It provides another strand of evidence in the development of policy.

  • International relations

The Food Standards Agency aims to ensure that imported foods meet the required UK standards, in order to protect the safety and interests of the consumer.

  • Stakeholder forums

The aim of the Forums is to enable the main consumer organisations, pressure groups, industry and enforcement authorities to raise matters of broad concern with the Agency on an informal basis. They will be held twice a year.
