Announcement of changes to the responsibilties of the Food Standards Agency – 20 July 2010
At today’s Board meeting, Jeff Rooker, Chair of the FSA, outlined contact he had had with ministers in the Department of Health and the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in advance of today’s announcement.
This included correspondence from the Chair to the Secretary of State for Health on 22 June 2010 and 14 July 2010.
The Board requested that these letters should be published on the Agency’s website.

Chief Executive’s Report
Food hygiene rating scheme
At today’s Board meeting, Tim Smith, Chief Executive of the FSA, briefed the Board on progress in developing display materials for the national Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (formerly known as 'Scores on the Doors').
Visuals of these materials were handed around the Board.
Copies of the materials can be found with the paper on 'Identity and branding' which was discussed at the UK-wide Scores on the Doors Steering Group meeting on 17 June 2010.
