UK controls on imported food
Friday 17 October 2003
The Board agreed on 22 October 2001 a paper on ways of improving UK controls on imported food. In May and July 2003 they were informed of the Agency's work plan for improving the co-ordination and delivery of import controls as part of the work going on across central government to address issues raised in the government review of import controls.
The Board has asked for regular updates on the Agency's work to address this step change.
Paper 03/07/01 provides further details of the Agency's work plan to address this step change.
Paper 03/10/01 outlines the progress made and includes a risk analysis of the work plan, proposed performance criteria for judging the success of the step change initiative and the results of a questionnaire to assess baseline data on local authority enforcement activity on imported food controls.
