Legal careers at the Agency

The Agency, together with the Meat Hygiene Service is responsible for ensuring the safety of our food.

In carrying out this task, it is important that we gain and retain the trust of stakeholders. Everyday, we are judged on our actions: on how well we fulfil our statutory responsibilities and public role. We are advising stakeholders on issues of national importance, so must have a credible and authoritative voice.

The Agency's Legal Services Team has a vital part to play in all this. It provides the expertise and advice that helps ensure that our law is properly implemented, and that policy and decision making functions are carried out in a just and reasonable way.
