Nutritionist careers at the Agency
One of the FSA's key aims over the next five years is to make it easier for consumers to choose a healthy diet, improving quality of life by reducing the levels of diet-related disease.
The Agency's nutritionists play a crucial role in this, drawing on the best available scientific advice and helping to make it accessible to the general public. They use their nutritional expertise to help inform and enable consumers to choose a healthy, balanced diet.
This knowledge also feeds into the development of practical, evidence-based policies that help the Agency achieve its strategic objectives. Their contribution plays its part in ensuring that we remain the UK's most trusted provider of independent advice on healthy eating.

My job is exciting: I work with lots of scientists, policy people in other areas inside the Agency and a range of Government officials, non-Government organisations and consumer groups outside of the Agency.

I work in Nutrition Division, in a team responsible for the reformulation of food to reduce levels of salt and saturated fat in foods and to encourage consumers to maintain energy balance. I work on the salt reduction programme and have done now for four years.
