Service standards
The Government is committed to improving public services and making them more responsive to their users. These standards set out the level of service you can expect from the Food Standards Agency.
Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIRs) give any person legal rights of access to information that is held by a public authority.

Complaints and comments
This page provides information on making a complaint about the Food Standards Agency. If you want to complain about or report a problem with food hygiene in a food outlet, a foreign body in food, or mislabelling, you will need to contact your local food safety enforcement team.

Welsh Language Policy
The Welsh Language Act 1993 states that every public body providing services to the public in Wales must prepare a Scheme setting out how it will provide those services in Welsh. The Food Standards Agency’s (FSA) first Welsh Language Scheme was operational between 2002 and 2007 and the FSA is now operating its second scheme for 2008 - 2012.
Civil Service People Survey
The FSA surveyed its staff last October as part of the second pan-Civil Service staff survey which included 100 government departments and agencies. The report lists the questions asked in the survey and gives responses from FSA staff.
Equality
The Food Standards Agency is committed to providing equality of opportunity and eliminating all forms of discrimination, harassment and bullying. It is committed to promoting a good and harmonious working environment in which everyone is treated with respect and will not tolerate discrimination, bullying and harassment of any kind.
Public appointments to advisory committees
The Annual Appointments Report includes details of the people appointed to the seven advisory committees for which FSA is responsible. It also includes diversity levels and progress against diversity targets.
Transparency data: spending and staff
Being open and transparent has been one of the Food Standards Agency’s core values since its launch in 2000.
Underpinning data publication
Where possible, the underpinning data from science and evidence gathering projects commissioned by the Agency should be made freely available in an accessible format that allows the widest availability for generating added value and enabling re-use.
