Transparency data: spending and staff
Being open and transparent has been one of the Food Standards Agency’s core values since its launch in 2000.
Openness operates at all levels, from early engagement with stakeholders during the formulation of policy, to the commitment of the Agency’s Board to take decisions on matters of strategic food safety policy at its open meetings.
The Coalition Government published a Transparency commitment on 31 May 2010 outlining a requirement for Government departments to publish details of: the pay of senior civil servants, departmental organograms, any spending on goods and services etc worth £25,000 or more from November 2010, new tender information and new information and communications technology contracts from September 2010. Finally, from January 2011, details of all new contracts should be published.
In line with this commitment, and in the spirit of its core values, the Agency will publish information in all of the above areas to ensure maximum openness and transparency.
