Waitrose recall own brand chilled ready meals due to possible contamination with bristles

Waitrose has initiated a product recall covering 11 of its own brand name products due to the possible presence of foreign objects, specifically bristles from a cleaning brush. The affected products recalled, which are all chilled ready meals, are listed as follows:

• Vegetable Cumberland Pie 400g
• Cottage Pie 400g
• Fisherman�s Pie 400g
• Fisherman�s Pie 700g
• Cumberland Pie 400g
• Mashed Potato 450g
• Liver & Bacon with Mashed Potato 400g
• Bubble & Squeak 450g
• Creamy Mash 450g
• Mini Liver & Onions with Mashed Potato 300g
• Sausage & Mash 400g

The only packs affected are those with use by dates between 24 August 2005 and 5 September 2005. The company advise that the affected products should not be consumed and should be returned to a local branch of Waitrose for a full refund.

No other Waitrose products are known to be affected.
