Withdrawal of Gudrun Cocoa Dusted Truffles due to undeclared presence of whey powder

Gudrun brand Cocoa Dusted Truffles 250g size have been withdrawn due to the undeclared presence of whey protein resulting in incorrect labelling information.

The affected product contains whey powder that is not labelled as an ingredient and not specified as an allergy warning, which makes this product unsafe for individuals who are allergic or intolerant to milk.

The affected product was manufactured in Belgium by Chocoladewerken Gudrun and distributed in the UK by Creme d�Or Limited and the House of Sarunds Ltd. However, there may be other UK importers/distributors of this product.

Creme d�Or Limited contacted the manufacturer in Belgium, which has taken measures to resolve this issue. Cr
me d�Or Limited has withdrawn the product from sale and instructed all its customers to display Point of Sale notices to alert consumers who are allergic or intolerant to milk of the problem and advise them of what actions to take if they have purchased the product. In addition, Cr
me d�Or Limited has been in contact with the Anaphylaxis Campaign, which has informed all its milk allergic members directly via a mail shot of the withdrawal.

The House of Sarunds Ltd has also instigated a trade withdrawal of the product and display of point-of-sale notices.
