Salmonella contamination of ASDA brand Camembert cheese

ASDA brand pre packed Camembert Taster cheese has been found to be contaminated with Salmonella. Only certain use by dates are being recalled.
The cheese is manufactured in France and then packed exclusively for ASDA Stores Ltd by Eurilait, Shepton Mallet, Somerset.
ASDA Stores Ltd has undertaken a full product recall and will be placing product recall notices in national newspapers on 19 January 2005.

Product Recall ' ASDA Camembert Taster (small wedge) 125g
Use By (s): 29 Jan, 30 Jan, 31 Jan, 01 Feb
Despite rigorous quality control procedures at our suppliers, routine testing has shown that pre-packed ASDA Camembert (125g), with the 'use-by' dates above, may contain Salmonella.
ASDA has taken the decision to recall the product.
Shoppers who have bought an affected Camembert should return it to their nearest ASDA store for a full refund or replacement. ASDA apologises for any inconvenience caused.
No other cheeses on sale at ASDA are affected ' including delicatessen Camembert.
