Product withdrawal of Weight Watchers Single Choc Chip and Double Choc Chip Mini Muffins due to the presence of mould growth

Heads of Environmental Health and Directors of Trading Standards will wish to be aware that Anthony Alan Foods has withdrawn two pack sizes of Weight Watchers brand Single Choc Chip and Double Choc Chip Mini Muffins due to the presence of mould growth.

Anthony Alan Foods, which manufactured the products under licence, has undertaken a product withdrawal of the affected items. Point-of-sale notices have been placed in all stores as of 31 August 2005. The notice advises consumers of the reason for the withdrawal and the actions they should take if they have already purchased the affected products.

The products withdrawn are:

• Weight Watchers 12 Pack Single Choc Chip Mini Muffins
• Weight Watchers 12 Pack Double Choc Chip Mini Muffins
• Weight Watchers 3 Pack Single Choc Chip Mini Muffins
• Weight Watchers 3 Pack Double Choc Chip Mini Muffins

The codes withdrawn are:

All codes up to and including 'best before' 13 September 2005.

No other Weight Watchers brand products or codes are known to be affected.
