Ferrosan Ltd withdraws Imedeen Prime Renewal food supplements due to the undeclared presence of irradiated white tea extract

Heads of Environmental Health and Directors of Trading Standards will wish to be aware that Ferrosan Ltd has withdrawn two batch codes of Imedeen Prime Renewal food supplements due to the undeclared presence of irradiated white tea extract.
Ferrosan Ltd has written to all recipients of the product requesting that they withdraw the two affected batch codes from sale and return it to their distributor.
Ferrosan Ltd imports the product directly into the UK from Ferrosan A/S in Soborg, Denmark. The irradiated white tea extract was manufactured in China by the China National Chemical Construction Anhui Company, Hefei, PR China.
As the irradiation had not been carried out at an approved food irradiation plant the import and sale of the products does not comply with the Food (Control of Irradiation) Regulations 1990.
In addition, as the products are not labelled as being irradiated they do not comply with The Food Labelling Regulations 1996.
There are no immediate food safety implications arising from these irradiated products.

Both codes have a best before date of June 2007
No other batch codes of this product are known to be affected
