Marks & Spencer recalls own brand Sweet and Sour Chicken meal due to incorrect labelling information
Thursday 8 February 2007
Food Alert: for Information
Ref: 01/2007
Marks & Spencer has recalled a batch of its own brand Sweet and Sour Chicken 300g meal due to a packaging error resulting in incorrect labelling information.
Crispy Prawns were placed into Sweet and Sour Chicken packaging in error, and, therefore, some packaging may not display the correct ingredient list and allergy advisory statement. The omission of the correct ingredients and allergy warning information from the label makes this product unsafe for individuals who are allergic to shellfish.
Marks & Spencer has undertaken a full product recall. Press notices have been placed in national press as of 7 February 2007 and point of sale notices are displayed in all its stores.
In addition, Marks & Spencer has been in contact with the Anaphylaxis Campaign and Allergy UK, which will inform all their shellfish allergic members of the recall via a mailshot.
The product recalled is:
Sweet and Sour Chicken, 300g
Use By: 13 Feb
Unique Product Code: 0133470
A copy of the product recall notice issued by Marks & Spencer is attached to this food alert.
