Heads of environmental health and directors of trading standards will wish to be aware that Waitrose Ltd has recalled certain date codes of its own brand houmous, due to the presence of salmonella.
Waitrose Ltd has recalled the affected products and, as a precautionary measure, eleven further products made from the same batch of houmous. Point of sale notices will appear in stores nationwide. These notices will alert customers to the recall and advise them of what actions to take if they have purchased the products.
The products recalled are:

Durability dates or codes: Use by – 23 April 2008
Waitrose Houmous 300g
Durability dates or codes: Use by – 23 April 2008

All date codes up to an including 29 April
