Waitrose Ltd has recalled selected codes of its own-brand Pickled Shallots 454g, due to pieces of glass being found in a small number of jars.
Waitrose Ltd has recalled the affected batch and time codes from sale. Product recall notices will appear in stores on Friday 29 August 2008. These notices alert customers to the recall and advise them of what actions to take if they have purchased the product.
The product recalled is:
- Waitrose Pickled Shallots 454g
- Best before end: Nov 2009
- Batch codes: L7312 all time codes between 09:45 and 13:40 (printed on top of the lid)

Product Recall
Waitrose Pickled Shallots 454g
BBE Nov 2009 L7312. Including all time codes between 09:45 and 13:40
As a precautionary measure we are recalling the above product, as a small number of jars may possibly contain pieces of glass.
The affected jars can be identified by the batch and time codes printed on the top of the lid. The time code is a 4 digit number printed directly after the batch code L7312.
Only jars with time codes between 09:45 and 13:40 are being recalled.
Any customers who have bought the above jars should not consume them, but return them to Waitrose for a full refund.
