SMA Nutrition recalls two batches of SMA Progress Follow-on Milk Powder 900g cans due to some of the product forming compacted lumps

SMA Nutrition has recalled two batches of SMA Progress Follow-on Milk Powder 900g as a precautionary measure following reports of the presence of compacted lumps of milk powder in one of these batches (Q8E113R26) of product.
SMA Nutrition has recalled the affected batch and, as an additional precaution, the batch preceding it. Point-of-sale notices will be displayed at all affected retail outlets and notices have been issued in the national press on 19 June 2008. These notices will advise customers of the actions they can take if they have already purchased the affected product.
The product being recalled is:
- SMA Progress Follow-on Milk Powder
- Pack size: 900g cans
- Best before dates and batch numbers:
- 09/10/2009 and Q8E103R26
- 10/10/2009 and Q8E113R26

PRODUCT RECALL
SMA Nutrition is recalling two batches of SMA Progress Follow-on Milk Powder 900g cans. The Best before dates and Batch numbers can be found on the bottom of the can:
Best before date: 09 10 2009 Batch number Q8E103R26
Best before date: 10 10 2009 Batch number Q8E113R26
SMA Nutrition has received reports of lumpy powder in batch Q8E113R26. As a precautionary measure, SMA Nutrition is recalling this batch. As a further precautionary measure SMA Nutrition is recalling the previous batch Q8E103R26, even though there have been no reports of problems with this batch. SMA Nutrition is advising that products from these two batches should not be used.
