Damasgate Wholesale recall all size and date codes of Ayyam Zaman Halawa (sesame seed paste halva) due to presence of salmonella (update 1)

This is an update to the food alert for information issued on 20 March concerning a recall of certain size, batch and date code of Ayyam Zaman Halawa (sesame seed paste halva) due to the presence of salmonella.

The Agency has been informed that, on a precautionary basis, Damasgate has extended the recall of Ayyam Zaman Halawa (sesame seed paste halva) to include all sizes and date codes. Damasgate Wholesale has contacted all of its customers and requested they remove all the affected products from their shelves. The company is in the process of providing retail outlets with point-of-sale notices which will advise consumers of the products recalled.

The products recalled are:

Ayyam Zaman Halawa - Topped with Pistachio
Ayyam Zaman Halawa - Strawberry Flavour
Ayyam Zaman Halawa - Plain

Date codes: All best before dates and pot sizes

No other Ayyam Zaman products are known to be affected.
