The City of Dundee is Scotland’s fourth city and covers an area of 6,515 Ha (26 square miles). Dundee City Council is a Unitary Authority with a resident population of approximately 144,000, although the City itself acts as the regional centre of the wider Tayside region and its population of 350,000. The Authority’s area is predominantly urban in nature, with a small rural fringe.
The authority's strengths
Feedingstuffs - The authority is addressing its responsibilities for feedingstuffs enforcement.
Service Plan - A Service Plan has been produced which meets the requirements of the standard.
Facilities & Equipment - The authority has made available all necessary equipment to permit all activities associated with the Service to be carried out.
Complaints Against the Service - A policy and procedure is in place.
Food, Feedingstuffs & Food Premises Complaints - These have been followed up in accordance with the authority’s procedure.
Follow-Up Action to Year 2 Non-Conformances - These have been completed within the specified timescale and the audit file has been formally closed.
Key areas for improvement
Facilities & Equipment - Equipment had not been calibrated at the minimum frequency set out in the authority’s procedure.
Feedingstuffs - The authority should identify whether it has any feedingstuffs enforcement responsibilities for materials that are being imported through the port.
