Audit Advisory Committee Scotland

The Audit Advisory Committee Scotland was established as an independent group to provide advice to the Food Standards Agency Scotland (FSAS) on matters relating to the process of audit of local authority food law enforcement and on the operation and effectiveness of the Framework Agreement on Local Authority Food Law Enforcement in Scotland.

Terms of reference

1. Advise FSAS on the process of delivery of official controls.

2. Advise FSAS on the performance of the auditors and the progress of the audits.

3. Advise FSAS on areas of good practice identified in the audits and action plans.

4. Advise FSAS on areas of concern/non-conformity identified in the audit process.

5. Advise FSAS on the operation and effectiveness of the Framework Agreement on Local Authority Food Law Enforcement in Scotland.

6. Membership of Advisory Disputes Panel (stated in the Framework Agreement).

Advisory Disputes Panels would be convened following a request for referral by a local authority chief executive. Membership of such a panel would be drawn from the Audit Advisory Committee, comprising the Chair and two further committee members.
