Terms of Reference
The Terms of Reference of the Group are:
- to hold regular meetings to discuss animal feed law and related matters
- to identify common problems and to agree a co-ordinated approach to feed law enforcement
- to exchange information (including arranging joint training) to facilitate closer co-operation between different agencies/bodies
- to draw up and operate Memoranda of Understanding defining respective enforcement responsibilities and roles as necessary
- to establish and maintain a comprehensive list of animal feed legislation together with a summary of lead agency responsibility
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
The MoU between animal feed law regulatory and enforcement bodies in the UK can be found at the link below. The aim of the MoU is to aid closer co-operation between feed law regulators and enforcers and promote better co-ordination and consistency in feed law enforcement.
The MoU between Local Government Regulation (formerly LACORS) and the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) regards the enforcement of EC regulation 183/2005 can be found at the link below. The aim of the MoU is to ensure enforcement of this regulation is carried out in a manner which minimises duplication of official controls.
The MoU between Local Government Regulation (formerly LACORS) and Animal Health (AH) in England and Wales in relation to the enforcement of EC regulations relating to animal feed can be found at the link below. The aim of the MoU is to ensure that enforcement of feed and feed related legislation in the UK undertaken by local authorities (LAs) and Animal Health is carried out in an effective, consistent and coordinated manner that minimises any possible duplication.
