Terms of Reference

To work collectively in the context of the Food Standards Agency’s objectives to improve public health and protect consumers’ interests through improved food safety and standards and measurably improve public confidence in national food safety and standards arrangements. In particular to:

  • >contribute to the development and maintenance of a framework that delivers proportionate and effective risk-based regulation and enforcement
  • contribute to the development and maintenance of effective mechanisms for food business operators/enforcement bodies to deliver food law compliance
  • the provision of expert advice, exchange of views and consideration of evidence in order to help inform, develop and deliver the Agency’s regulation and enforcement policy
  • to consider any other issues relevant to food law regulation and enforcement
