The Agency’s involvement in fighting food fraud
Since its inception the FSA has been aware of the publics concern about reports of food fraud. This page has a number of examples of where the Agency has worked with local authorities in combating food fraud.

Waste Food Task Force
This independent advisory group was formed in 2001 to make recommendations about how to prevent further waste by–products of slaughtered animals from illegally entering the food chain. The group submitted their report FSA 03/09/02 to the FSA Board at the September 2003 meeting and together with a paper summarising the recommendations FSA 03/09/02 Annex 3.
The Food Fraud Task Force
The Food Fraud Task Force was set up to review the FSA measures to tackle food fraud and consider better ways of identifying, controlling and/or reducing food fraud. Its final report including the its recommendations was submitted to the Food Standards Agency Board at their meeting in September 2007. Further information can be found at the link below.
