Local authority grants scheme 2008-09 launched
Thursday 10 January 2008
Applications are now invited for grants of up to £10,000 to support projects to start from mid-May 2008 ending by 31 March 2009. The closing date for completed applications is Friday 29 February 2008.
The scheme is now open to applications from local authorities, district councils, food liaison groups or trading standards regional groups in England, Northern Ireland and Wales. The scheme for applications from local authorities and food liaison groups in Scotland will be announced separately. Scottish authorities will be contacted directly when this is launched.
As in previous years, we will particularly welcome proposals for initiatives that focus on improving food hygiene in the home and promote healthy eating by working locally with vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.
This year we will particularly welcome proposals for initiatives that focus on the three themes below:
- Working with older people
- Projects that utilise or are based on the Agency’s Food Competency Framework for Children and Young People (Food Competency Framework)
- Continuation or extension of existing initiatives tailored to new areas or new target audiences
Applications must be submitted by completing the Application Form provided below and should be received by 5pm on Friday 29 February 2008.
The following documents can be downloaded in Microsoft Word format from the links.
