Training for feed and food law enforcement officers
One of the Agency's commitments is to improve the safety of the nation's food. We work with local authorities to further develop their enforcement services. One area in which we are active is a continuing programme of quality update training for local authority feed and food law enforcement officers at a cost that is affordable to local authorities.
The following courses are funded and in some cases developed by the Agency:
- Animal feed hygiene
- Application of good hygiene practice and HACCP principles in the making of speciality cheeses
- Cannery inspection refresher
- Diversity Training
- Food labelling
- Food standards factory inspection
- Food standards update
- HACCP assessment for enforcement officers
- Handling of food allergens
- Imported foods
- Investigation skills
- Lead auditor/assessor skills
- Operation and control of on-farm pasteurisation plants and ancillary equipment
- Shellfish depuration
- Shellfish hygiene
- Vacuum packing, modified atmosphere packing and cooking and chilling of meat products
These courses have been devised for the use of feed and food law enforcement officers currently employed by local authorities only. They are not available for the general public, students or consultants.
Please note that not all courses are available UK wide and you should contact the appropriate department for courses run in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
