The Food Labelling Regulations 1996 (FLR).

These notes explain the requirements under the Food Labelling Regulations 1996 (FLR) (SI 1996 No. 1499) which implement the provisions of the EC Nutrition Labelling Directive (90/496/EEC) in England and Wales. They are intended to be read in conjunction with the Regulations (the relevant sections of which are referred to where appropriate), and are not exhaustive.

These notes are advisory and have no direct legal effect. Any legal queries should be resolved by reference to the Regulations or the Directive.
