Report on discussions at EU Standing Committee on Food Chain and Animal Health (SCoFCAH): 19/20 June 2006
Wednesday 23 August 2006
At the 19/20 June 2006 meeting of the EU Standing Committee on Food Chain and Animal Health (SCoFCAH), a proposed package of additional implementing measures (which would amend the food hygiene legislation and the implementing measures) was presented for discussion. No votes were taken at this meeting.
The Commission would include references to colostrum in the raw milk proposals where necessary and allowed for national legislation in other areas until harmonised rules were agreed.
The Commission said they could not insert a date for the introduction of the Lawrence method for testing for Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP) as they did not know when the technical problems for the test would be resolved.
The package of measures would be presented for an opinion at the July Scofcah meeting.
