Fruity Veggy News is an activity book aimed at pupils aged 7 to 11. It's packed with information about a variety of fruit and vegetables, together with jokes, recipes and exciting fruit and veg craft ideas. It's designed to give pupils a fun and motivating read.
The activity book aims to encourage pupils to work with, and taste, a variety of fruit and vegetables so that they become more familiar with them. This should make pupils more receptive to their appearance, smell and taste and therefore more likely to eat and enjoy them regularly.
Fruity Veggy News includes a number of different features and utilises the positive association of the Bash Street Kids. Each character gives menu suggestions showing how their favourite fruit or vegetable could be offered in a variety of ways at any time of the day, whether at breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack or as part of an evening meal.
An assortment of recipes has also been included to motivate pupils to try the featured fruit and vegetables in a number of different ways. These recipes have been chosen mainly for their visual appeal and it's hoped that they will encourage pupils to make and eat a greater number of fruit and vegetables each day.
Encourage your pupils to try these out and hopefully you will all enjoy the variety of dishes designed to tantalise your fruit and veg taste buds.
