Draft Gelatine (Intra-Community Trade) (England) Regulations 2001 - Summary of responses
Thursday 1 December 2005
The Gelatine (Intra-Community Trade) (England) Regulations 2001 implement, in England, certain provisions of Commission Decision 1999/724 on the hygienic manufacture of gelatine for human consumption.
The formal consultation period was for 5 weeks ending 23 March 2001. Approximately 150 consultation letters, including the draft Regulations and the draft Regulatory Impact Assessment, were sent to interested organisations, including enforcement authorities, consumer organisations and industry.
Only two organisations responded to this consultation - both were enforcement bodies. The points they raised concerned the provisions of the Regulations and some specific enforcement issues. These points were addressed in Guidance that accompanied the Gelatine (Intra-Community Trade) (England) Regulations 2001.
The Regulations came into force on 21 May 2001.
