Appointments to the Advisory Committee on the Microbiological Safety of Food
FSA Chair Tim Bennett has announced the appointment of Professor Peter McClure and Dr Dan Tucker as well as three reappointments to the Advisory Committee on the Microbiological Safety of Food (ACMSF). The ACMSF provides the FSA with independent advice on the microbiological safety of food.
Professor Peter McClure
Professor Peter McClure is a Microbiologist and Microbiology Department Manager for Europe, at Mondelēz International R&D Ltd.* He is a food safety expert with extensive knowledge and expertise in microbiological food safety and spoilage. He has carried out no political activity in the past five years and holds no other Ministerial appointments. His term is from 1 April 2014 until 31 March 2018.

Dr Dan Tucker
Dr Dan Tucker is a senior lecturer in veterinary public health/pig medicine at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Cambridge. He is fellow and Director of Studies in Medicine and Veterinary Sciences, Pembroke College, Cambridge. He has carried out no political activity in the past five years and holds no other Ministerial appointments. His term is from 1 April 2014 until 31 March 2018.

Professor David McDowell
Professor David McDowell is Professor of Food Studies at the University of Ulster where he leads the Food Microbiology Research Group. His term has been extended until 31 March 2018.
Mr David Nuttall
Mr David Nuttall is currently Catering Manager at Harper Adams University College. His term has been extended until 31 March 2017.
Mrs Rosie Glazebrook
Mrs Rosie Glazebrook is the Committee’s consumer representative. She has a background in publishing and media and has been involved in developing a number of major consumer campaigns and publications. Her term has been extended until 31 March 2017.
