    The Food Standards Agency has published the results of its survey looking at the migration into food of selected printing ink components from printed carton-board packaging materials.The results also include work on the presence of mineral oils in some of the food packaging samples. Based on the results, the FSA's advice is that there is no need for consumers to change their eating habits.

New figures from the Health Protection Agency (HPA) reveal that 90% of campylobacter outbreaks at catering venues were linked to undercooked chicken liver pate. Campylobacter is the most common cause of food poisoning in the UK.

    Research published today by the Food Standards Agency shows that a significant proportion (76%) of oysters tested from UK oyster growing beds contained norovirus. The virus was detected at low levels in more than half of the positive samples (52%).

    Denar has recalled its 200g packs of golden jumbo raisins and dried apricots because these products contain sulphur dioxide, which is not mentioned on the product label. This makes the product a possible risk to health for anyone sensitive to sulphites. The Agency has issued an Allergy Alert.

    The Food Standards Agency has been alerted that pig and poultry feed in Germany has been found to contain dioxins above the European legal limits. Based on the available information none of the potentially contaminated animal feed, or food from the animals that may have eaten the feed, has entered the UK.

    The Agency has updated its list of product ranges that do not contain the six food colours associated with possible hyperactivity in young children.
