Beat the germs with FSA Wales workshops at Techniquest
Monday 1 August 2005
Food Standards Agency Wales will be running a series of children's workshops at Techniquest, Cardiff, as part of a programme of events focusing on nutrition and food safety.
Starting on Tuesday 23 August and running for one week, these workshops may be booked in advance, and on arrival, through Techniquest.
Staff from the Agency will be on hand to help youngsters test their skill and knowledge on interactive computer-based food safety and nutrition games. Visitors of any age can also pit their wits on quizzes; challenge friends to a game of 'Connect 5' and the Veggie Tower Topple (reinforcing the essential message of the need for at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day) and clean up on their food safety knowledge with a game of 'Bubbles and Slime'.
Helen George of Food Standards Agency Wales said: 'Our fun workshops are a light-hearted way of getting over very serious messages on food safety and nutrition. Children of all ages are welcome to join the 45 minute sessions and learn through play.'
