Wednesday 18 May 2005
'Healthy Nosh for Less Dosh' is a new publication from Food Standards Agency Wales, aimed at giving young people both the insight and incentive to help them choose, buy, and cook healthy food cost-effectively.
Whether living independently or with a young family, maybe studying or working, it can be a challenge to eat healthily on a budget if you don't know which foods are nutritious and economical. 'Healthy Nosh with Less Dosh' contains tips on how to get clued-up to be a thrifty shopper and there's inspiration on quick and easy meals to cook.
The 18-page guide includes hot tips, real life stories, simple and tasty recipes and a quiz aimed at providing young people who are learning to manage on a limited budget with the confidence and motivation to make a start in the quest for a healthier diet.
Lorna Thompson of FSA Wales comments, 'There are few publications that are specifically targeted at young people in these situations. We recently launched the booklet to students at a Healthy Living event organised by the Health Centre at Cardiff University, and received a very favourable response'.
Copies of 'Healthy Nosh for Less Dosh' can be ordered from FSA Wales on 02920 678912 or by emailing nutritionstrategywales@foodstandards.gsi.gov.uk
