Cadbury advent calendars recalled
Thursday 24 November 2005
Cadbury Schweppes has recalled all batches of Cadbury Dairy Milk Miniatures Advent Calendars (226g), because they have not been labelled correctly, which could cause a problem for some people with food allergies.
The Food Standards Agency has issued a Food Alert for Information.
Some of the chocolates in the calendars contain soya and nuts, but these foods are not mentioned in the ingredients or allergy advisory statement. This means that the product is not suitable for people who have an allergy or intolerance to either nuts or soya.
Cadbury Schweppes has undertaken a full product recall. It is publishing notices in the national press tomorrow to tell the public about the recall and has issued point-of-sale notices for stores to display. Cadbury also has a helpline on 0800 818181.
The Anaphylaxis Campaign will contact its relevant members to tell them about the recall.
Food alerts
Food alerts are the FSA's way of letting local authorities and consumers know about problems associated with food and, in some cases, providing details of specific action to be taken.
They are issued under two categories:
- Food Alerts: for Action
- Food Alerts: for Information
