Meetings to discuss new shellfish legislation
Monday 3 October 2005
The Food Standards Agency Scotland is hosting a series of meetings for stakeholders in the shellfish industry, to discuss the impact of new European food hygiene laws.
Existing controls for fishery products will remain largely unaltered by the new legislation but sampling and monitoring requirements for bivalve molluscs, particularly wild scallops, will be changed.
The meetings will include a presentation on the new regime and a question-and-answer session.
Details of the meetings, which will be held in different parts of the country, are available at the link below.
