Update on applying EU feed and food controls

An update on the progress since January 2006 on the measures being taken to apply EU Regulation 882/2004 on official controls in the UK has been published by the Agency.
Regulation 882/2004 sets out general requirements for competent authorities, or enforcement authorities, that are responsible for checking that businesses comply with feed and food legislation.
The latest update provides further information on the revisions being made to the national legislation applying the feed and food elements of EU Regulation 882/2004. It also provides more details of work being taken forward to develop the UK multi-annual national control plan. In addition, it provides an update on developments at EU level on establishing detailed implementing measures for imported feed and food of non-animal origin (non-POAO).
