New Chair appointed for ACMSF

Agency Chair Deirdre Hutton today announced the appointment of Professor Sarah O'Brien as the new Chair of the Advisory Committee on the Microbiological Safety of Food (ACMSF).

Professor O'Brien is a Consultant in Public Health Medicine and currently Professor of Health Sciences and Epidemiology at the University of Manchester. Her appointment is for three years, with immediate effect until 31 March 2010.

The ACMSF provides the Agency with independent expert scientific advice. Appointments to the committee are made strictly on merit following public advertisement.
