Only these products and these data codes are affected.
The sheep had been treated with a veterinary drug (doramectin) to combat sheep scab that was not given enough time to pass through the animals' systems.
The likelihood of people eating meat from the affected part of the animal is very low. However, as a precautionary measure, Asda has removed batches of lamb from sale that could be affected.
Point-of-sale notices are being displayed in Asda stores and customers who have bought lamb from the affected batches are being asked not to consume it and return to their nearest Asda store for a refund.
Concerns around doramectin relate to repeated exposure that has caused sickness and other effects in laboratory animals. The Agency welcomes Asda's precautionary action in removing the lamb from its shelves.
The Agency believes lamb from the affected animals may have been distributed more widely across the UK and is investigating. We will issue an update when more information comes to light.
