Aldi recalls four varieties of own-brand chilled meat pies

Aldi has recalled four varieties of its own-brand chilled meat pies because the products have incorrect use-by dates. The Agency has issued a Food Alert for Information.

The products being recalled are:

Barcode: 25073874
Use by: 30 October 2008 (incorrect date)
- Crestwood (Aldi brand) Chicken Pie, 800g
Barcode: 25067156
Use by: 30 October 2008 (incorrect date)
- Crestwood (Aldi brand) Steak & Mushroom Pie, 800g
Barcode: 25073898
Use by: 30 October 2008 (incorrect date)
- Crestwood (Aldi brand) Steak & Onion Pie, 800g
Barcode: 25068979
Use by: 30 October 2008 (incorrect date)
No other Aldi products are known to be affected.
Aldi has recalled the affected batch and will be placing recall notices in the national press tomorrow, 1 October 2008. In addition product recall notices will be displayed in all stores explaining why the products have been recalled and advising anyone who has bought the product to return it for a full refund.
The incorrect use-by date applied to the products is 30 October 2008 – they should have been labelled 30 September 2008.
