Waitrose recalls its own-brand semi-skimmed milk

Waitrose is recalling some semi-skimmed milk from its essential range, because it might contain small amounts of cleaning solution.

The product recalled is:

• essential Waitrose semi-skimmed milk (1.7% fat)
• 1.136 litre (2 pint)
• 'Display until': 1 November 09
• 'Use by': 2 November 09

Notices have been put in stores, explaining to customers why the products have been recalled. If you have bought the affected milk you are advised not to consume it, but return it to Waitrose for a full refund.

No other date codes or Waitrose products are affected.
