Contractors needed to carry out foodborne disease research
Wednesday 21 July 2010
The Food Standards Agency is asking researchers to submit proposals for two separate research projects on foodborne disease. All work commissioned by the Agency will be on a contract basis.
The two research requirements are:
- establish methods for the detection of Enterobacteriaceae-producing Extended Spectrum Beta Lactamases (ESBLs)
- norovirus: food attribution and risk ranking of viruses in food
The Agency's Strategy for 2010–2015 highlights reduction of foodborne disease as a main priority to ensure that food produced or sold in the UK is safe to eat.
These projects address some of the science and evidence requirements of the Agency’s Forward Evidence Plan.
Information about the individual research requirements, deadlines for the receipt of applications, and the standard application documentation can be found at the link below.
