Ceramic Articles in Contact with Food Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006

The Ceramic Articles in Contact with Food Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006 came into operation on 20 May 2006 and replaced the Ceramic Ware (Safety) Regulations 1988. The regulations are made under the Food Safety (Northern Ireland) Order 1991 and transpose Council Directive 84/500/EEC, as amended by Commission Directive 2005/31/EC.

These notes have been produced with the aim of providing informal, non-statutory guidance on the production and labelling requirements, for natural mineral water, spring water and bottled drinking water and should be read in conjunction with the relevant legislation and other Guidance Notes where appropriate. The text should not be taken as an authoritative statement or interpretation of the law, as only the Courts have this power
