Advice to consumers
Customers with a soya allergy are advised not to eat this product.
Text of the recall notice issued by the company
Dairy Crest is withdrawing from sale a limited number of tubs of its 2kg Vitalite spread because some of the labels say that the product is 'Soya Free' when it contains a small amount of soya lecithin.
The product is therefore unsuitable for people with a soya allergy. Anyone with a soya allergy is advised not to eat the product. For people who are not allergic to soya, the product is completely safe.
Only 2kg tubs of Vitalite are affected and only those with best before dates of 2 May 2008, 28 May 2008, and 26 June 2008.
Dairy Crest is withdrawing from sale all affected tubs and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
No other products are affected.
Full refunds are available. Customers should call the freephone Vitalite consumer care line on 0800 6121243 or e-mail: dairycrest@navigatorcm.com
