Asda withdraws one date code of Asda Layered Prawn Salad due to a packaging error resulting in a potential allergen issue

Risk:
An incorrect top label has been applied to an Asda Layered Prawn Salad. The base label, which is correctly labelled, includes the ingredients. However, the top label has been incorrectly applied as an Asda Tuna Layered Salad. Prawns are not declared on the top label of the Asda Layered Prawn Salad and therefore the product poses a risk to those allergic to shellfish.

Action taken by the Company:
Asda has withdrawn all affected stock. Customer notices will be displayed in stores to alert consumers to the reasons for the recall and the actions they can take if they have purchased the product. A copy of the point of sale notice issued by Asda can be viewed at the link below. In addition, the company has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations who will inform their at risk members of the recall.
No other Asda Stores products are known to be affected.
Advice to consumers:
Customers who are allergic to shellfish are advised not to eat this product.
