Acrylamide 'may not be linked to cancer'
Friday 31 January 2003
The British Journal of Cancer published a research paper on 28 January 2003 about acrylamide in food and its link with cancer.
This report will be one piece of a wider picture of emerging evidence. However, as its authors acknowledge, this cannot be considered conclusive at this stage. The Agency's advice to consumers continues to be that people should eat a healthy, balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables and limit amounts of fried and fatty foods.
