The first volume presents the initial findings on food intake from a survey of the diet and nutrition of adults aged 19 to 64 years living in private households in Great Britain, carried out between July 2000 and June 2001.
This first part of the report describes the background to the National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS) of adults aged 19 to 64 years, its main aims, research designs and methodologies and response. The main part of this report covers the quantities of foods consumed by respondents, including an analysis of the number of portions of fruit and vegetables consumed, and differences by age, sex, region and household benefit status.
