The Food Standards Agency in Wales (which receives its funding from the Welsh Assembly Government) does not generally engage in the direct commissioning of research. FSA Wales seeks to ensure that Welsh issues are addressed in the context of the Food Standards Agency's UK-wide research and surveillance programme.
