The Food Standards Agency’s Meat Hygiene research programme (M01) was reviewed on the 26 – 27 March 2007 at the Belfry Hotel, Warwickshire.

Objectives
- To review the output of meat hygiene projects completed by March 2007 against the Food Standards Agency’s policy and scientific objectives and to include an assessment of the scientific quality and costs of completed and ongoing research projects
- To determine if the issues raised in the Meat Hygiene Research Review 2002 have been addressed (see Annex 1 of the M01 Research Programme: Review Proceedings document below)
- To consider ongoing meat hygiene projects against the Food Standards Agency’s policy and scientific objectives
- To look at the scope and direction of the programme and identify the areas of research to be prioritised in future
