Aberdeen-based Professor Ratcliffe is currently the Professor of Nutrition at The Robert Gordon University in the City. He has held a number of posts at RGU, including Acting Head of School of Food and Consumer Studies, Associate Head of the School of Pharmacy, and Associate Head of the School of Life Sciences.
He has a BSc (Hons) in biological sciences as well as a PhD in nutrition from the University of Aberdeen. He is a member of the Association of Professors of Human Nutrition, a Fellow of the Institute of Biology, a Registered Nutritionist, a member of the Nutrition Society and he is the Honorary External Relations Officer for the Nutrition Society.
Professor Ratcliffe has worked in nutritional research in Government-funded organisations and has contributed to science education in Universities since 1984.
