Aberdeen-based Dr Cameron, started his career as a chemistry technician in the fish industry in 1964. He then worked his way through the food manufacturing industry before gaining a biochemistry degree and a PhD both from the University of Aberdeen.
Dr Cameron was a Senior lecturer at RGIT – The Robert Gordon Institute of Technology (now Robert Gordon University) in Aberdeen and since 1989 he has been operating his own company offering food hygiene, food safety courses and consultancy.
Dr Cameron was also President of the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) in 1993 and 2004.
